Linen Curtain Fabric

Linen curtain fabric is a natural fabric, created from fibres in the stem of the flax plant, involving a complex manufacturing process, which makes it expensive both to buy and to produce.
Pure linen is a luxurious, light, crisp fabric, which readily accepts dye and is therefore available in a vast range of colours.
Pure natural linen is prone to creasing and is therefore often mixed with other fibres to produce a softer and more manageable fabric.
Linen is often used to create sheer curtains or, combined with silk for a lustrous finish or, mixed with other fibres to create a linen union.
Linen curtain fabrics include:
- Linen Union : Linen mixed with other fibres, often cotton, to produce linen union, which is softer and has superior draping qualities than pure linen.
- Natural Linen : Natural linen, or 100% linen is a light, crisp fabric with a smooth and slub-free weave, although it is prone to creasing.
- Sheer Linen : A slightly loose weave, pure linen sheer has a natural and soft handle to it.
Always iron on the WRONG side of linen fabric - whilst it is damp
Try not to fold linen fabric, store on a tube or rolled around some wadding
